Pan-Fried Cod

You know those meals that smell like childhood, weekends, and someone calling you to the table before you were even hungry? That’s exactly what this cod gave me today. There’s something magical about fish hitting a hot pan — the sizzle, the aroma, that moment when the edges turn golden and you just know it’s going to be good. And when you tear into it? Soft, flaky, warm, perfectly spiced. It’s the kind of simple comfort that makes the whole kitchen feel brighter.

Ingredients:
• 1 whole cod (deheaded, deboned)
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 2 tbsp frying oil
• A pinch of salt
• A pinch of cumin
• A pinch of paprika
• Lemon & fresh greens for serving

Method:
Cut the cod into smaller pieces.
Sprinkle the pieces with salt, cumin, and paprika.
Preheat the oil in a pan over medium heat.
Dredge each cod piece lightly in flour.
Fry on all sides until golden and crisp.
Serve over fresh greens with a squeeze of lemon — or pair it with any side dish you love.
