Black Turnip Chips
A simple side dish that proves how deeply flavorful minimal ingredients can be.
Lately I’ve been obsessed with simple ingredients that surprise you — the kind that look humble but turn magical with just a little love. And this black turnip? Oh, it’s one of those quiet vegetables that suddenly becomes golden, tender, and fragrant. A little butter, a little thyme, a little lemon… and suddenly it tastes like something you’d swear took way more effort. Sometimes the simplest things really do shine the brightest.

Ingredients:
- 1 black turnip
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- A pinch of salt
- A pinch of fresh thyme leaves
- A pinch of lemon zest
Method:
Peel the black turnip and slice it into thin half-moon pieces.
Melt the butter with olive oil in a pan.
Add the turnip slices and fry on both sides until beautifully golden.
Arrange the turnip on a serving plate.
Finish with salt, fresh thyme, and a whisper of lemon zest.
