INGREDIENTS

1 broccoli
1 garlic clove, minced
1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon of butter
1 tablespoon of olive oil
50 ml of water
Salt to taste

METHOD

1. Prepare the Broccoli:

Start by washing the broccoli and removing the crown. Cut the broccoli into florets, ensuring they are of similar size for even cooking.

2. Sauté the Broccoli:

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the broccoli florets to the pan and sauté for 3-4 minutes, until they begin to soften and develop a golden colour.

3. Steam the Broccoli:

Once the broccoli is lightly sautéed, add the water to the skillet and cover with a lid. Allow the broccoli to steam for 5-7 minutes, or until it is tender but still crisp.

4. Add Flavour:

Remove the lid and add the butter to the skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and salt to taste. Stir-fry for a couple of minutes, until the garlic is fragrant and the broccoli is coated in the buttery garlic goodness.

5. Finish with Parmesan Cheese:

Sprinkle half of the grated Parmesan cheese over the broccoli and stir until it is evenly distributed. Transfer the garlic Parmesan broccoli to a serving plate and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top as a flavourful finishing touch.
