INGREDIENTS
¼ of a ripe mango
1 teaspoon matcha powder
100 ml boiling water
100 ml milk of choice (dairy or plant-based)
Ice
METHOD
1. Prepare the mango layer:
Peel and slice the mango, then blend until completely smooth. You can strain it if you prefer a silkier texture.
2. Make the matcha:
In a small bowl, whisk together the matcha powder and boiling water until smooth and frothy. A traditional bamboo whisk works best, but a handheld frother does the job too.
3. Assemble the drink:
Spoon the mango purée into the bottom of a tall glass.
4. Add ice:
Fill the glass with a generous amount of ice to keep the layers separated and refreshingly cool.
5. Pour in milk:
Slowly pour your milk of choice over the ice, creating a creamy middle layer.
6. Top with matcha:
Gently pour the prepared matcha over the back of a spoon or the side of the glass to create a distinct top layer.
To serve:
Stir before sipping—or don’t! Enjoy the bold layers as they are or swirl them together for a perfect fusion of tropical and earthy flavours.
Let your next coffee shop craving happen right in your kitchen.
