Tri-Color Waffles

Soft, buttery waffles with a playful twist — three natural colors, one simple batter. Lightly sweet, a little nostalgic, and perfect for turning an everyday breakfast into something more fun.

Ingredients

  • 300 g flour
  • 250 ml milk
  • 130 g butter, melted
  • 100 g sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1.5 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder

For coloring:

  • Yellow: 1.5 tsp turmeric
  • Green: a handful of spinach + 1 tbsp water
  • Red: 1 boiled beetroot

Method

Preheat your waffle maker.

In a large bowl, beat the eggs with sugar and vanilla sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the melted butter and milk, mixing until smooth.

Sift in the flour and baking powder, then gently mix until a smooth batter forms.

Divide the batter evenly into three separate bowls.

For the yellow batter, stir in turmeric.
For the green batter, blend spinach with a tablespoon of water until smooth, then mix it in.
For the red batter, blend the boiled beetroot until smooth and fold into the batter.

Spoon the batter into the waffle maker (you can layer or mix the colors slightly for a marbled effect) and cook until golden and cooked through.

Serve warm with your favorite toppings.
